Application:
For church members and leaders: Knowing Scripture is the best way to spot a counterfeit teaching. When discovered, the teacher must be confronted, stopped, corrected, and restored to right doctrine. Those who fell prey also need to have their erroneous beliefs corrected and restored.
For church members: The world is looking at Christians to see if our walk matches our talk. Do we behave in ways consistent with our beliefs or do we appear to be no different from lost people? How does our conduct reflect that of Jesus? For those of us who are older, are we reaching back and mentoring younger generations, teaching them valuable life lessons we have learned?
