Tahca Zephier, alongside teammate Ashlan Carlow Blount, has accomplished a rare and impressive feat at the Lakota Nation Invitational, winning a team championship in cross country and then following it up with a girls’ basketball title in the same season. Zephier played a key role in both championships. She was the fastest runner on Mahpiya Luta’s LNI championship cross country squad and is now playing major minutes for the girls’ basketball team as they have opened the season undefeated.
