I've been a serious minded Bible believer (and studier) for over 40 years! I might not be the sharpest spiritual tool in the shed...but I'm far from the dullest! Over the past 40 years I have LEARNED much about the Truths of Scriptures. And I know that I have LEARNED many Truths of Scriptures because the Lord 'saw' my desire to know them. Now, I purposely emphasized the words LEARNED because that IS an essential part of having the Lord REVEAL His Truths to someone. Brethren...contrary to what most emotionally and experiential driven Believers teach you...the Truths of Scriptures are NOT supernaturally revealed to a Believer simply because they have the Holy Spirit residing in them! (Or because they make an 'altar call' and get a (supposed) second or third, etc. Holy Spirit 'zapping'!) I promise you that IF you genuinely seek to LEARN the Truths of Scriptures...and then IF you diligently begin to look for God's Truths (as you seriously study and ponder and meditate on the things of God's written Word)...using your God-Created brain...the Holy Spirit will be right there 'with you'...enlightening and guiding you thru the Truth Treasures of Scriptures!
Proverbs 2:1-6 --- My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding —indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God. For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding...
The Scriptures put the onus of KNOWING (i.e. reading, studying and learning) the Truths of Scriptures on the Believer. You won't find one spot in the Bible where the Holy Spirit gets 'blamed' for the biblical ignorance, or false teachings of a Believer! If the Good Lord didn't think it was possible for a child of His to 'grow in' (the knowledge of) the Truths of Scriptures (using their God-created brain and their knowledge of various truths (i.e. biblical Truths, historical truths, archeological truths, grammatical truths, etc. etc.)...there's NO WAY He would REBUKE them when they don't get it right!!
Hebrews 5:11-14 ---- We have much to say about this, but it is hard to make it clear to you because you no longer try to understand. In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish that which is good from that which is wrong.
Matthew 24:3-5 --- As Yeshua was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” And Yeshua answered and said to them, “See to it that no one misleads you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ (or I am the way) and will mislead many.
That leaves me out because MOST (i.e. many) in the Church of the Living God refuse to listen to what I have to say! I promise you...today's Mega-churches are loaded with false teachers! Yeshua Christ said there will be MANY false teachers...and the result will be that MANY will be misled! His words not mine!
