On this episode the geeks are joined by Tom Burbidge of Albany Shed Company located in Desborough, England. Listen as Tom explains starting in an industry nearly 40 years ago where he was "sweeping about, and burning the end cuts." He discusses some of the major differences in shed building in the UK versus the States. Some of those examples include common size sheds, and the different types of builds they see.
Tom explains that they experience similar challenges such as availability of timber, extended lead times, and a flurry of sales that made 2020 stacked full of new experiences. Find out how RTO, and shed delivery do not exist for garden sheds in the UK, and how competitive the market is for our friends in England.
Its a funny, light-hearted, and overall cool opportunity for us to welcome our first international guest onto the show. Be sure to tune in, listen close, and experience a little different perspective of what being a shed geek looks like in a totally different capacity.
Meet the Geeks at this years Shed Builder Expo in Grand Rapids, MI! We will have a booth with our equipment setup for interviews or just to get a potential picture with the geeks.
