Today, we step into the penultimate chapter of 2 Samuel, Chapter 21, which feels different from the narrative flow we’ve been following. The drama of rebellion has quieted. The kingdom is stabilizing again. But now the story turns our attention to the unfinished business of the past.
This chapter reminds us that not all wounds are visible, and not all consequences disappear simply because time has passed. Some things linger beneath the surface until God, in His wisdom, brings them to the surface to be addressed.
So, this chapter is about:
· Accountability
· Covenant faithfulness
· the long shadow of past sin
Chapter 21 is not an easy chapter, but it is a necessary one. It reminds us that God is committed to justice, to truth, and to healing — even when the process is painful, and even when the wounds come from long ago. So, let’s walk through a chapter and see how God leads His people toward restoration.
