Connor continues the "Church Words" series with an examination of "sanctification," defined as "being set apart and devoted to a higher purpose." He looks at Old and New Testament examples of this being “set apart” and explains the concept of progressive sanctification. Even though we are sanctified by Christ’s death on the cross (we being saved by grace through faith), there’s more sanctification (not to be confused with salvation) to come as we continue our journey on earth. It’s a work in progress. We’re on a holy mission for God to act like daughters and sons of the King. But our mission must be motivated by our love for God, rooted in the Word, and full of grace for others.
THE EXTRA: Connor stops by our podcasting studio to share a little more about legalism and how we as Christians can set boundaries to advance our faith journey without creating roadblocks for others.
Oh, and Connor and Jim face off in another round of Church Passwords!
