Connor Kraus begins our study of Leviticus with an overview of what this third book of the Bible says and why we should study it. Understanding this book improves our biblical literacy. It also enriches our biblical worldview. How? Leviticus helps us recognize God’s authority over us, the breadth and depth of his holiness, and his desire for us to be in relationship with him. But it also reminds us that because of our sinful nature, we can’t be holy. Therefore, we can’t enjoy a relationship with Him – without divine intervention, that is. We’ll be holy in Heaven, but we shouldn’t wait until then to pursue holiness. It’s what God wants for us and the book of Leviticus helps us understand what that looks like.
