Saint Francis we are so very blessed as Catholics, as believers of the same Christ to follow in your footsteps. We may not always get it right, but our goal in our heart is to aim toward what is holy, what is just, what is Christ. And to strive eagerly toward this goal, we become ever so slowly the follower that accepts the truth in all matters of life. We are one world, one family, all searching for the Christ. And who better to write about and speak about than you Saint Francis of Assissi, who experienced the piercing of the nails that pierced our Lord the very day he was hung upon a cross. You must have been carried the entire time by the Holy Spirit. What I mean is, your journey with carrying your own cross, Christ's cross was aligned automatically with yours. You gave up everything for Him. No doubt whatsoever in my mind He our Lord carried you all the way through. I can see myself during the time I abandoned this world and gave my life to Christ. No body understood. Except our Lord. And the hardship of that road, built within me the character that was missing. And I proceeded forward with ultimate trust in God knowing it would not be easy, but in the end, He would take care of me. And so it was all very much well worth the painful journey. When we give away everything and we give God 100% of who we are, He moves mountains through us! The old self dies, thank God for that! And the new self which is Christ is put on and we enter into the world with a different mindset. Not of the world but of God. I no longer matter. Christ matters the most, and his people who need help matters greatly. And when we step away from our selfish tendencies, that set us far away from the gospel truth, if we are honest, we can take a sneak peak back into our past and realize the filth, the poor choices, that did nothing good for us in our lives. United in Christ, the world begins to heal itself. One soul at a time. Is it absolutely necessary. We become who we were meant to be and this greatly glorifies God. We must look deeper into ourselves, and we must be very honest, and when we are, we can accomplish what truly matters the most. Til then, we kid ourselves and others, including God, so we think, and that is never good. Because eventually we have to look back on our lives and reflect upon what was it that was truly missing. Faith, Hope, Charity, are among the three most important characteristic traits we as Christians must follow. Without them how can we ever please God, how can we ever help our neighbor, how can we truly live in Christ? When we awaken from our darkened slumber, the same sun will rise, and the same God will reign forever in hearts that have accepted him and the same moon and stars will light up the very same sky day after day, night after night. Consistent as our Lord is consistent in his creation and in everyone he has breathed life into their very nostrils. Yes we can deny the Christ, for it is He who grants to us free will, but isn't it better to know who He was, what He did for us in this lifetime, so that in the next life, when He comes for us, and takes us to himself, we are ready to be taken? I personally want to know the creator of the universe, who made me a woman, a mother, and a future grandmother. I want to know everything about him. I want to know everything about his Mother and Father. I want that knowledge you see, to be an instrument, not just any instrument but Gods instrument of peace in this world. My hope and my prayer for you and everyone on the planet is this. To desire knowing him, and to desire studying the holy scripture. That would be a great start. And then building upon what you have learned and keeping that legacy alive by how you choose to live.
