What if, we could become, the person, knowing, everything God has taught us and chose for us to live out, would lead us eventually,  to our new and improved best self  living out our best life?  We are no longer the person we use to be, we have become better.  How then would the world look at us?  Would they hold onto the old self or look at what God has accomplished in us today.  I wonder.  Today I bring to you the contemporary English Version of the New Testament published by the American Bible Association, in 1991.  I am hoping that you will discover a real treasure when you open up this book.

We all need to change something about ourselves.  We all need to grow.  We all need to grow up.  Who better to grow with, and through, than our very own Lord.  I am hoping that hearts will experience great conversion in the greatest depths of their own mind, body, soul, and spirit.  I prayed to God that exact prayer today as our pastor upheld the precious chalice and I placed my prayer for you and me, within it.

I love the fact that God had brought to my attention yesterday this old book to share with you, so that you too may find and experience the benefit of knowing scripture.  Again, what I wrote over thirty two years ago, leapt from the page on the inside cover  inspiring me, to continue within this challenge to grow.

"Change Our Hearts"  Your words say it can be. " Change our Minds" this time,  your life can make us free!   These are not,  I repeat,  these are not,  just words!   These are great tools meant for us to apply to our lives during our earthly journey.  It's been difficult lately, living in the ever so estranged present, you know what I am talking about.  Our personal cross is much heavier than I could ever remember it being.  I cannot help but to question, does ones cross become heavier when we hold onto too much of our own old baggage?  Its a very good question.

What exactly is it that you find yourself carrying right now? Lets decide today, together that we are going to give any and all, un-necessary baggage to God.  And let us go and pray very deeply about our situation inviting the intercession of our Lord's Mother, who will pray for us and bring our sorrow, to her son, so that we can be healed, completely healed, of any affliction that has taken over our mind, body, soul, that has led us onto the wrong path of thinking and living.

We at our Holy Baptism were in fact baptized priest, prophet, and king.  We must never forget the great lineage we are connected to.  Maybe if we thought of ourselves in this manner, we would live more of an upright life and fully see and understand the great value that Christ himself is placing upon His children.  I think we need to think about this more often.

If we did, we would live differently, act differently, speak differently.  We would greatly value and greatly treasure the life God has given to us and we would conscientiously make less mistakes, and we would place a greater value on life again.  The life of a woman.  The life of a man.  The life of a child.  The life of a healthy family.  This is long over due.  Let us think about this together, my brothers and sisters, as each and every day passes, please, let us reflect deeply upon the good that is Christ!
