Only our Lord, can heal our inner waywardness. Only our Lord can heal our inner blindness. Only our Lord can heal our inner imperfections. Why is it that we allow such negativity to cling to us unnecessarily throughout our life journey? Why do well allow what needs to be said, left unsaid? Why do we choose to create more problems that stemmed from the first problem that we chose to do nothing about? Without even realizing it, we injure not only ourselves but everyone in our path. When one is not honest and open nor willing to work real hard on perfecting them self, an even bigger problem begins to form.
We unknowingly begin to carry a heavy cross in our life. I have seen adults begrudgingly carry resentment within themselves, blaming others for their choices, and furthermore hurting relationships. Sadly their biggest mistake is choosing to not work through their issues.
A cross deliberately being carried forward in a person shows that they are stuck in adolescence. When a person chooses to remain in the state of unforgiveness their ability to grow is stunted and they rob themselves and others from living freely and fully in a life that is all inclusive, in Christ.
A cross deliberately being carried against another( is a sign of weakness), when one chooses to hold onto the hurt, it hurts everyone. And I believe this is totally unacceptable in the eyes of our Lord. We as Christians, must choose to take the higher road, (through much prayer and fasting), and in placing the other person before our self, for this greatly pleases God, and helps us to work through the details of every issue more effectively, until something good comes out of it.
If only we would choose to pray for one another first, before speaking to or about each other to others about our problems, we would discover, that growth in Christ, is the preferable choice over carrying a cross for a lifetime.
