Finding our way to humility. I think it is one of the most important ways that you and I can rediscover ourselves through learning, through listening, through understanding ourselves and others much better than we do. In Michael Caseys book "Living In The Truth", he states this. Humility brings fundamental happiness that is able to cope with external difficulties and sorrows. Stop right there. Reread this incredible statement. This statement goes right to the heart of the matter. Author Michael Casey goes on to say that humble people are down to earth. They are not alienated from their own nature. They accept their origins and are content to be what they are. Christlikeness is perhaps another word that best describes humility. On page 2 humility is best described as that network of attitudes that spring from a radical conversion of heart, and signals a deep and inner conformity with Christ. Growth in humility is powered by the simple desire to become like Christ. When we desire to be holy, we go further in our search for the truths pertaining to Christ, pertaining to the faith we were given. It is important for the christian to discover Christ, discover humility, and in doing so, we go on to discover, the self deep within. Not wasting but investing in the life benefits that will go on for those of us who believe in the teachings of the Catholic Catecism of The Catholic Faith. We are worth more than we realize. We are Gods ultimate creation. Worthy of living life immitating Benedictine teachings on humility.
Page 45 the author goes on to say This is the celestial home of the saints. Blessed are they who can be raised to the enduring region, having climbed the steps of humility through the ladder of observance in this present time. They will rejoice in perpetual jubilation with God.
