How great is your desire to know Christ?  Do you desire him so much that you would be willing to place him at the very helm of your daily life?   Would you be willing to make Christ the most important part of your life?  Would you be willing to die for him, as he died for you?  Christ desires this gift of eternal life for all humanity, but I question, does humanity desire eternal life with Christ?  All four questions are worthy of your contemplation.  If our deepest desire is to know Christ and to live in Christ, you would think that we as a world we would desire his blessings, his grace, in exchange of every selfish desire held within our heart. God does see everything, he filters out our very heart, our every intention, good, bad, or indifferent.  But God is love, and he so loved the world he gave us his only son.  Christ did greatly sacrifice his life for us, as he died on a cross for all of humanity. His death was and forever will remain to be the ultimate sacrifice, so that we would all have eternal life in him.  At the crucifixion, his blood and water gushed forth from his heart, as a fountain of mercy for us.  His experience on the cross opened us up to the precious blood and body at the sacrifice of the holy mass.  This great mystery reveals the God man that so few of us  identify with as we make our journey toward him.  But this Godman knows us better than we know ourselves.  He gave us limited understanding for a reason.  Our hearts and minds were not meant to totally grasp the greatness of Him.  I believe he gave us a portion of his intellect, as a gift so  that we would turn to him and rely on him for the rest.  When we spiritually thirst for him, we understand what it was exactly he  wants from us as his sons and daughters.  The great gift of himself is met in the valley of tears where our soul desires to live within his company.  In knowing Christ, we know ourselves better.  But before we really get to know him, we need to educate ourselves in the truth.  We begin with reading a catholic bible, and it is there that we begin to enter into the silence with our Lord, knowing who he is, and what he did for us, as a human race.   In his love, we are drawn instinctively into his most holy presence.  We are his very own.  Whether it be at mass, attentively listening to the word, or receiving his precious body in the form of the most holy Eucharist.  Jesus is present and wants to be more present in us.  How do we enter into his most holy presence daily as faithful Christians?  We enter into his being by the invitation he has given to us through all the sacraments of the church. We were shown Gods love for us through our parents when they brought us to the church to be baptized, priest, prophet, and king.  We went on to learn about good verses evil, and saw the importance of  attending church, and  within the first or second grade where learned how to examine our conscience we spoke to our priest about any sin we may have committed against another person, we were shown the importance of knowing, learning, and holding  accountability on our part.  On our confirmation day we recognized symbolically as the holy spirit coming upon us in the form of a dove, we learned that Christ himself was the symbol of a dove that lives forever within every Catholic heart .  We learned the importance of doing good works for others through the spiritual and corporal works of mercy and living a good life, supportive of the missions within the catholic church.  A catholic never stops giving of their time and talent to their church family for as long as they shall have life within them.  This is our beautiful faith.  We live to serve God by serving our brothers and sisters all the days of our life!
