In this message, Pastor Bill Francavilla closes our Every Day Opportunities series by addressing something everyone understands: regret and missed opportunities.
Through a fascinating historical story about the Incan emperor Pachacuti—who sensed the existence of a Creator long before hearing the Gospel—we see how fear can cause people to miss profound spiritual moments. What might have happened if that truth had been shared boldly?
But this message is not about living in regret.
Looking at Philippians 3, we see how the Apostle Paul—once a persecutor of Christians—refused to be trapped by his past. Instead, he chose to press forward toward the calling God had placed before him. Through Christ, our failures do not define our future.
We also see the powerful restoration of Peter in John 21, where Jesus meets him after his greatest failure and calls him forward again: “Follow me.”
The message is simple but powerful:
• We cannot change the past
• We can learn from it
• And every day God gives us breath is another opportunity to live for Him
Instead of dwelling on regret, God invites us to spring forward in faith, embracing each new day as a chance to glorify Him, encourage others, forgive freely, and grow more like Christ.
Every day is an opportunity.
