After a beautiful one week's holidays in Mallorca I got a sudden call to go back to Poland where my Dad collapsed at his home and had to be taken to the hospital. I am an only child so I understand the consequences of looking after an elderly parent. I spent about two weeks pretty much on my own in the house, and here I am sharing some reflections on changing my mindset re: responsibility and control.
