Forgiveness is often easier said than done, and yet it's a critical component of Christianity. Christ forgave us while we were still sinners and enemies, so we ought to forgive others. Depending on the situation, it can be easy to want to keep lists, however. Holding a record of wrongs done against you is a very human thing to do, and yet we are compelled to do the opposite.
Joseph had a life full of trouble, none of which was his fault. He was sold into slavery, falsely accused, and forgotten in a dungeon. Even after all of that, however, he found a way to forgive the ones who caused all the problems in his life. They were his brothers, by the way, which added all the more pain to the situation, to be sure.
What about you? Are you able to face the pain, bring it into the light, and make the choice to forgive a wrong and destroy that list you've been holding onto today?
