Every moment in life is full of decisions. Some are big, but most are little. These moments are often so little, in fact, that we would argue they are irrelevant or inconsequential in the grand scheme of life. The Bible gives precedence that just the opposite is true, however.
Jesus lived every moment of His life surrendered to the Father's will. He even stated that He only did what He saw the Father do. It didn't matter if life was happy, sad, easy, or difficult. Jesus committed His life and every moment to doing what the Father led Him to do, and it serves as our example.
Throughout life, we often want to be the decision maker until something goes horribly awry or we're in a moment of chaos. Then we want the Lord to take over and, if we're honest, take away the trial. Yet Jesus prayed in His most desperate moments that it would be the Father's will that would prevail instead of His own. Even though Jesus was God, He submitted to the Father's plan. How much more ought we to do the same?
