It's easy to think that if we do enough "good deeds," go to church, say the right things, or just in general "be a good person," we'll get into heaven. We find in Scripture, however, that's just not the case.
Jesus had a conversation with one of the leading religious leaders of his day. This teacher knew all the right information and had done all the right things. Deep down, the rabbi knew there was still something missing. Jesus' response was, in essence, "It's not enough." In one of the most beautiful and logically confusing descriptions, Jesus informs the rabbi, Nicodemus, that to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, one must be "born again."
But what does that mean? How does that happen? How do we know if we've been born again or not? The answer is profound and simple. Do you know Jesus, or just know about Him? Is He the Lord of your life, or just a respectable guy?
Today, you can be truly born again, freed from the bondage of sin and death into a new life with Christ. It's a free gift offered to everyone. All you need to do is to receive it.
