Welcome to the "Elementary Principles about Christ" series- “Repentance from Dead Works”. Religion is an invention of mankind as a means of elevating themselves before God. Rooted in pride and self-righteousness, it becomes hostile towards grace and repentance. The problem is that religious traditions are relative fabrications that are self-serving and run contrary to God’s grace and truth found in the Gospel message of Jesus Christ.
Hebrews 6:1, “not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death...”

If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless. Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
