Four young women who are also long-time friends (Jada Pinkett-Smith, Queen Latifah, Vivica A. Fox, Kimberly Elise) living in Los Angeles find themselves increasingly desperate to the point where they decide to become bankrobbers. Initially they're successful but then then things start to get increasingly complicated when one of them strikes up a romance with a local bank executive (Blair Underwood) and the local police (lead by John C. McGinley) begin to close in on them. Directred by F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton, Law Abiding Citizen, The Italian Job, Friday), this tense action thriller was a surprise hit when it was released thirty years ago this fall, also with a hit soundtrack which features some great music from En Vogue, Seal, and several other notable pop artists from this era.
