This episode is about the gift of Enlightenment, which is the gift I associate with the first step. I know there may be some questions concerning my selection of the word Enlightenment to describe this gift. It may be a little confusing because Enlightenment is usually in a different, more ethereal way.
I suppose it may have been simpler to refer to this gift as something like, ‘awareness’. I did think of a few other terms, but the word Enlightenment kept coming back to me as the correct term. I also found a definition of Enlightenment for the way I use this gift in this particular step. That definition is: The act of giving someone knowledge or understanding .Anyway, it is what it is. In part one I plan to speak about how this Enlightenment comes to be, and how we can recognize it. In part two, I hope to describe it more thoroughly, and speak about how it has affected my growth in the 12- step program.
