After Paul's discussion about spiritual gifts in chapter 12, he writes to immediately put those gifts in the context of loving one another. A church filled with people who exhibit spiritual gifts accomplishes nothing if they practice their gifts in the absence of love. Much more important than what gifts we have is that we practice those gifts in service to one another because we love one another in the Body of Christ.
