Matthew 21 tells us that when Jesus entered Jerusalem the whole city was in turmoil. Jesus knew what he was traveling into. He knew that he was traveling toward violence. For the peace of that day with joyful shouts of Hosanna would soon be replaced with shouts of crucify him! As Jesus would be arrested, beaten, and hung on the cross.
