In this week’s podcast, I make a quick reference to the new guidance that has just been issued by central government …about calculating statutory holiday pay. The regulations were actually updated on 06/04/2020.
Whereas calculations for holiday pay, for people on fixed hours and rates of pay, has always been relatively standard, for people who work irregular hours or who are on Zero Hours Contracts, this has not been the case. There have been long standing disputes about how holiday pay is worked out for this latter group of workers, and it’s this particular dispute, which the new regulations were created to address.
