In this episode I’ve got an announcement, and where this announcement came from is something I’ve been saying during 1-1 sessions with clients recently.
When it comes to foods or food groups, abstinence is not mastery. Moderation is mastery.
When people preach the idea of cleansing your house of certain foods, or removing certain food groups from your diet entirely, that’s not mastery. Those methods create a situation where the food has more power over you than ever.
Popular unnecessarily restrictive diets are encouraging military veterans, men who’ve seen combat, to experience anxiety surrounding the idea of eating a sandwich… There’s something really not right about that.
