Nothing in life messes with our priorities like shame. We feel likefailures, and we lack the self-control to overcome them. In John 21 the Lord helps Peter deal with his shame that has been tormenting him. Jesus restores Peter’s confidence and takes away the painful confusion that never leaves his mind.
