After Jesus' miraculous feeding of 5,000 men plus women and children, the people began to think Jesus could be their king. Who would not want to serve a king like that? But Jesus immediately rejected their proposal. This miracle seems to have been intended to teach the people and his disciples what kind of Savior Jesus was.
