Have you ever faced a situation where you felt like God's timing was different from what you expected? That’s what we’re talking about today. How did you respond, and what did you learn from that experience? Mary and Martha fully expected Jesus to heal their brother, but he didn’t come until after he died and was buried in a tomb. In fact, Lazarus had been dead for four days!
You will see in John’s description that Martha was frustrated with Jesus, and Mary was hurt. We’ve all earnestly prayed for something when our hearts ache for a resolution, and yet, it seems as if our prayers are met with silence. We may have even had times when we felt frustrated or hurt by God’s delay in answer to prayer.
