Picture this scene: a room filled with Jesus and His disciples. The group feels a strong connection with one another…a real unity brought together by the experience of sharing a meal. They’ve been through a lot together. However, in this tight-knit group, there was an undercurrent of tension simmering. Aware of His followers' hearts and intentions, Jesus prepared to unveil a revelation that would test their loyalty and faith. To say that it shocked everybody would be an understatement.
Jesus knew that he’d be betrayed by Judas and denied by Peter, and still, he washed their feet. Why did he do that? What motivated him? The same thing that motivates you to do good for your children even when they’ve hurt you. You serve them because you love them and not because they deserve it.
