History of Pentecostalism: 1st Wave Pentecostalism
Tonight Dr. Doug Weaver is coming on to initiate our series on the history of pentecostalism and the theological distinctions of the various waves of pentecostalism. Tonight we will be discussing the 1st wave Pentecostalism. 1st Wave pentecostalism, also known as classical pentecostalism, became widespread through the Azusa street revival.
For those of you who are not familiar with Dr. Weaver, he has been at Baylor University since 2003 and is a tenured full professor in the Department of Religion. He is a member of the Department's Historical Studies area and his current research and teaching focus on Baptist history and Pentecostalism.
