The Anointing of David
1 Samuel 16:1-13

In this passage we encounter the story of God choosing David and anointing him as the next king of Israel. It’s a surprising and somewhat unexpected story as David was the least likely candidate to be chosen.He was actually quite ordinary, yet God chose him and set him apart to accomplish the extraordinary for God’s purpose.

• When we pursue our own glory above God’s glory we’re destined for destruction.
• Trusting God’s way instead of relying on our own way leads to a much better outcome every single time.
• God often uses the ordinary to accomplish the extraordinary.
