Love to hear from and know who is listening
In the world of sports the media is always talking about what player is “The Goat,” the greatest of all time player. Every sport and every person has their opinion of who is the “Goat” in their favorite sport, so I am not going to start that conversation, but it did get me to thinking, what is man's greatest of all time invention? Some people consider the wheel to be the greatest invention of all time. The wheel led to other innovations, including wheelbarrows and chariots, which changed the way people lived, worked and traveled. Mills, steamboats, and a few other inventions, also owe their creation to the basic, but incredible, wheel. In 1436, Gutenberg refined printing in a way that forever changed history. Gutenberg’s press used metal blocks and molds. He used a wine press to exert even pressure on the metal type. His crowning achievement was using his press to produce 200 copies of the Bible within three years, which was astoundingly fast at that time. Vaccines go back to Buddhist monks who drank snake venom and people in 17th century China who purposely exposed their skin to cowpox in an effort to protect against smallpox. British doctor Edward Jenner pioneered the field of vaccinology with his development of the smallpox vaccine in 1796. Louis Pasteur made advances in vaccines, developing cholera, anthrax and rabies vaccines. The computer and the internet, it’s hard to think of an aspect of modern society that hasn’t been affected by the computer. Although many people have contributed to what we call the computer, several great minds are noteworthy. Charles Babbage, envisioned a device that could execute math operations and would include a memory unit. His invention was named the analytical engine. John William Mauchly and J. Presper Eckert, two scientists at the University of Pennsylvania, created the first general-purpose computer, the Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer. No matter what you may think is the greatest invention of all time all of these very intelligent people all had one thing in common, all of their inventions used elements that were created by one that is truly the “Greatest of all Time,” God!
Genesis 1: 1-5 ESV In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.
When God began creating the heavens and the earth, it was a shapeless, chaotic mass, Then God said, “Let there be light.” and light appeared. God stepped out of no where and using nothing at all, He spoke all that exists into existence!
Genesis 1: 14-15 ESV And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years, and let them be lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth.” And it was so.
Nobody knows for certain how big the Universe is because we cannot see to the edge of it. We don't even know if it has an edge. The greatness of God is infinite! We serve a God who can be described as AWESOME and THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME!
1 Chronicles 29:11 ESV Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all.
