Have you ever wondered what the greatest miracle ever recorded in the bible might be? The greatest miracles in the bible would be different depending on who you ask. Is the greatest miracle in the bible the day the sun stood still for Joshua? Is it the parting of the Red Sea in Exodus? Is it the movement of the sun’s shadow backward ten steps in Isaiah? The resurrection of Christ recorded in Matthew must be in the top 5 at least. Is it the feeding of 5,000 in Mark? Or maybe the greatest miracle in the Bible is the creation of the world, in Genesis. Here is a miracle I bet you have never even considered a miracle. The divine inspiration of the bible itself. If I hand picked 10 people and told them that together we were going to write a book. Each one of us is going to be responsible for a chapter. None of us are allowed to speak to each other about our writings and none of us are told what topic we are to write about. Then I tell you that you have 1 year to write your chapter, then turn it into me and I will assemble our book. I guarantee you that our book would be nothing more than helter skelter ramblings that make absolutely no sense at all, but not so with the bible! Ultimately, the Bible was written by God. Second, Timothy tells us that the Bible was “breathed out” by God. God inspired the human authors of the Bible so that, while using their own writing styles and personalities, they still recorded exactly what God intended. The Bible was not dictated by God, but it was perfectly guided and entirely inspired by Him!

2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Humanly speaking, the Bible was written by approximately 40 men of diverse backgrounds over the course of 1500 years. Isaiah was a prophet, Ezra was a priest, Matthew was a tax-collector, John was a fisherman, Paul was a tent maker, Moses was a shepherd, Luke was a physician. Despite being penned by different authors over 15 centuries, the Bible does not contradict itself and does not contain any errors. The authors all present different perspectives, but they all proclaim the same one true God, and the same one way of salvation, Jesus Christ. Over centuries, billions of people have read the Bible. Scholars have spent their lives studying it. Rabbis, ministers and priests have focused on interpreting, teaching and preaching from its pages. The Bible has also influenced architecture. This can be seen in the design of churches and cathedrals, where elements such as height, light, and arrangement of space are used to symbolize the transcendence of God and heavenly. Many churches and cathedrals are famous for their beautiful stained-glass windows that show stories from the Bible. The Bible has also had an unmatched influence on literature. It has been translated into nearly 700 languages, and while exact sales figures are hard to come by, it’s widely considered to be the world’s best-selling book. There’s another miracle that we must include in the list of the greatest miracles of the Bible. It’s a miracle that happens every day, as God takes a rebellious sinner, forgives his sin, grants him life, lavishes him with grace, adopts him as a child, and seals him for all of eternity, all because of the death and resurrection of Christ. Praise the Lord for the miracle of salvation!

Ephesians 1:13-14 NIV And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redempti
