Love to hear from and know who is listening
A daily shower has many important health benefits. Most people need a daily shower. In addition to the most obvious benefit, the reduction of body odor, a daily shower also improves immune function, eases muscle aches and pains, reduces swelling, increases blood flow, improves concentration, lessens fatigue and makes it easier to breathe. Showering cleans the skin and removes dead skin cells to help clear the pores and allow the skin cells to function. It washes away bacteria and other irritants that could cause rashes and other skin problems. However, the main reason why people shower as much as they do is that it helps them meet social standards of cleanliness and personal appearance. In other words the average person is ashamed by the body odor that can occur if they have not taken a daily shower. So my difficult question for you is: Why do we not not feel the social pressure to spend time in God's word daily? Which is more important your health and personal hygiene or spiritual health and hygiene?
1 Timothy 4: 13 ESV Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching.
Spending time in God's word daily is as crucial for a good spiritual health, as taking a daily shower is important for good physical health. Reading your bible daily allows you to deepen your relationship with God by understanding His character, receiving guidance for your life, finding encouragement, and aligning your actions with God's will. Reading Gods word creates a foundation for living a life according to Christian principles.
Deuteronomy 6: 6-9 ESV And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
When we spend time with God, we can unlock God’s plans for our lives. We can receive direction from Him on the steps we should take and decisions we should
make for our lives. Many of us have questions about our lives; what are we supposed to do, what is our purpose in life, what steps should we be taking concerning our lives? Who better to guide us than the One who created us?
Jeremiah 29:11 ESV For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
The people we choose to spend time with can either “make or break” us, they affect our character and can even shape who and what we believe. We essentially become like those who we choose to spend time with. If we choose to spend time with God, we will find ourselves becoming like Him. We will not only get to know His character, but we will begin to adopt His character. The more we spend time in God’s word, the more we will begin to adopt His character, we begin to think like Him, love like Him, see others the way that He does. The more you spend time with God and look to Him, the more you will become like Him. Spending time with God daily is just as important to your spiritual health as taking a shower daily is to your physical health. So shower yourself daily with the word of GOD!!!!
