Pergamum was a big, educated, cosmopolitan city, where everyone and everything was accepted, as long as, you bowed the knee to Caesar. The pressure on the Christians to compromise and conform was real and costly a pressure we find ourselves walking in even today. How do we walk as followers of Jesus when everything in culture and society invites us to compromise and conform?
