Shame is the belief that we're somehow defective and that at our core, we’re just not ok. Shame shrinks us and shuts us down.
Although living with toxic shame can be extremely painful, it’s not always obvious to those around us. We may respond to shame by masking, people pleasing, and even perfectionism as we try to work our way to worthiness.
This week on ADHD Crash Course, we cover the topic of shame and ADHD- why we struggle in this area and what we can do about it.
