Good morning Austin Ridge,
Have you ever been tempted to give up on Jesus? I definitely think that there are times in life when there seems to be a better way than what Jesus is offering. Today we are going to see Jesus ask His twelve disciples a question that He will inevitably ask each of us many times throughout our lives: "Do you want to go away as well?" In a sense, He is asking "do you want to give up on me?".
Two thousand years ago, people gave up on Jesus just like people give up on Jesus today. I think we all are potentially just one unmet expectation, one tough time, one tempting situation away from a crisis of faith. My hope is that today would open our eyes even more to who Jesus is and what He is like so that in those fragile moments when Jesus asks us "Do you want to go away as well?", we can answer confidently along with the twelve, "Lord, to whom shall we go?"
