Today we are finishing our Doctrine Series, Axiom, by discussing the doctrine of Heaven. The Bible has over 500 references to our eternal home so it is definitely a major theme throughout the scriptures. Who will be there? Who will not be there? What will we do? What from this life will be familiar? Is Heaven a real place or just a vaporish, cloudy existence?
If you are to know anything about Heaven, we need a truly reliable source. To understand Heaven, you must understand Jesus. Jesus came from there, went back there, and will come again to take us there. Jesus knew more about heaven than anyone else who has ever lived.
My prayer and hope today is that we will begin to long for, and prepare for, our true and permanent home much more than our temporary home.
