3rd John - To the individuals in the Church
2nd John – Goodness - most important thing to do: keep the commandments
3rd John – Faithfulness – what do you do on your own?
Verse 1 - Gaius – I am glad
Verse 2 – Prosper = Succeed NO = good journey, Health = sound (Titus 2:2 – be grounded) What are you doing on the journey?
Verse 3 – Speaking to the individual
Verse 4 – My children = Gaius was a convert of John’s
Verse 5 – Strangers = visitors
Verse 6 – Pour your love into someone’s life they’ll tell others Manner worthy of God – Matthew 25:34
Verse 7 – Total commitment – giving everything to God
Verse 8 – Who can you support?
Verse 9 – BUT Diotrephes = nourished by Jupiter – learning from the world
Verse 10 – gossips, doesn’t receive the brethren, forbids others as well
Verse 11 – Get back to doing good, spiritually minded need to encourage, need to step up
Verse 12 – Demetrius = belonging to the goddess of harvest
Verse 13-14 – face to face so important
Verse 15 – Peace to you
2nd John – to the Church keep the commandments going
3rd John – to individuals in the church - get on the journey
Support the brethren, find the ways to help others accomplish the work
What’s good? Continue to build up the body, support one another, remain faithful in
