Colossians 3:1-17 - Stop and smell the roses
Vs.1 If you have been raised - Plan of Salvation - Ephesians 2:4-8
Keep seeking the things above – Ephesians 1:3; Revelation 5:11
Vs.2 Set your mind on things above - Hebrews 12:22-24
Vs.3 Your life is hidden with Christ - John 10:27-30
Vs.4 Christ who is our life Philippians 1:21 revealed with Him 1 Thessalonians 3:13
Vs.5 dead to immorality, impurity 2 Timothy 2:22; passion – emotions control you?
Bad desires – wishful thinking; greed = covetousness
Idolatry – excessive devotion or reverence to a person or thing.
Vs.6-8 you once walked – James 1:14-15
Vs.9 do not lie to one another - James 5:14-16
Vs.10 put on the new self – Philippians 3:7-11
Vs.11 No distinction between - Scythian – savages, un-civilized, nomads - Mark 3:21
Vs.12-13 Therefore put on a heart of - Ephesians 1:6-8; Luke 23:34; Romans 14:1-4
Vs.14 Put on AGAPA – seeking the best for another, expecting nothing in return
Vs.15 Be thankful – 1 John 5:13
Vs.16 Let the word of Christ richly dwell in you - John 8:31-32
With thankfulness in your heart - Ephesians 1:3
Vs.17 Giving thanks through Him to God the Father - John 3:16
