Romans 15:4; When did you last read Daniel on your own? Give him much thought? You already have most of the stories memorized, but do you realize their value to you. Let’s run through the Matrix of Daniel. A series of lessons or highlights from Daniel.
Daniel 1 – Neb. University Love of God – God granted Daniel favor because he trusted in His Word and God knows the heart Song of Songs 1:8; 4:7-8; Hebrews 11:6; Vs. 8-9, 12, 15, 17, 20
Do you take God with you to school, work and play. Hebrews 4:10-11 His rest You think you can do anything? John 15:15; Therefore 1 Thessalonians 5:16-21 Trust in His Word and let the love for God grow within your heart. Ephesians 3:16-19 What better encouragement to say to your kids, “Remember Daniel”, as they, go off to school.
Daniel 2 – Neb. Kingdom – Joy of God – is when men ask for guidance, He answers prayer. The dream - Vs. 11, 12, 16, 18, 19, 28-30; explain the dream, Romans 1:15; Daniel 9:27Elevating men glorifies God Daniel 2:46-48; Matthew 4:17; God’s kingdom has come. Ephesians 3:8-10; Mystery 1 Corinthians 1:18-24; What are we doing with these great truths? Clear thinking comes from above – James 3:13-18 How do you explain to others the reason for the world of madness around us. Romans 1
Daniel 3 – Neb. Religion - Peace of God - comes to those who are not ashamed to confess Him. Neb. Is king of the world, and demands they worship his idol. Vs. 5, 6, 14, 16-19 They already enjoyed the peace of God, then God delivered them – Vs. 25, 28-29 Does this not apply to us? Matthew 10:28; Hebrews 2:14, 15; Philippians 4:7 When people threaten, that’s when we hold our ground, don’t die a 1,000 deaths, die once. Musical instruments in worship not a wise idea. Daniel 3; Exodus 32; King David outside - Hebrews 12
Daniel , Shadrack, Meshack, Abednego were men like us, who set great examples for us to follow. Daniel put his full trust in the Word of God and became a very wise man. They obeyed His word by calling on His name to give them the guidance they needed, saving others. They shared the Truth with Neb. They would not, could not, bow to any God but One.
In all of this they were lifted up among men and God was glorified. Putting your faith hope and love fully into God’s word may not make us rich or famous. But one thing we do know, this effort of ours will bring glory to God, one day. We want to be together on that final day, Daniel shows the way, he shows it can be done.
