Daniel and his friends did exactly that, they walked by faith for three years and the end result when they graduated from Neb’s university they were 10x wiser than all students and teachers. Because God blessed their faith, Daniel declares this in Daniel 1:17; since he is the author.
Along with Ezekiel teaching the people they won’t be going back to Israel and what is left will be destroyed, so invest your time, studying the Word, so that they or at least so that their children will once again have a relationship with God and a future in Israel. With Daniel’ s examples and Ezekiel’s guidance, the people of God began to repent and return to God.
The lesson from Daniel for us today – now that Christ has come and we no longer have to follow food restrictions as they did, but now we follow Christ’s food recommendations, Jesus said his Word is true drink – the living water and true food – the bread of life.
Importance of eating and drinking regularly is seen in the 3 laws of life – 3 minutes without air; 3 days without water and 3 weeks without food and you will die. God provides the very air we breath, he has given us the life we all have, so be thankful to Him. His Word is of greater value than water – it is the source of eternal life. His Word is of greater value that food Matthew 4:4
As much as they studied the word of God, daily in the synagogues, to strengthen themselves to have the wisdom of God to make wise decisions, we too must study the Word, daily, for it is the source of our eternal destiny, these things I have written that you may know you have
Eternal life. 1 John 5:13; It was vital to Daniel – it needs to be vital to us.
Proverbs 29:18; Where there is no vision, the people are unrestrained, But happy is he who keeps the law.
Hosea 4:6; My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
In Moses’ writings, God speaks of them being taken from the land because of sin. And this is where they find themselves, struggling in the darkness of Babylon. Now more than ever they need a vision, the knowledge that speaks about the future. So that they do not lose hope, but have a hope implanted in their hearts, a hope that makes them work towards the future, that which they know is coming.
Now we have Daniel 2 and Neb’s dream he refuses to tell anyone, to guarantee it’s fulfillment. Daniel steps up defends the wise men, and asks God for help, vs. 23,28

Realize not only does God reign but Satan has been removed. Romans 16:20; Hebrews 2:14,15; Revelation 12:7-9,12; 20:1-3;
God’s people need a vision to survive – they were given one – the kingdom to come.
