Description

Daniel 4 - Arrogance – means to have great pride in yourself and disdain for others. Prideful, boastful, haughty, self willed, puffed up, full of hot air, brazen.   Humble, modest, lowly.

Pride is the very root and essence of sin, pride refuses to thank God from its lofty, self-sufficient position and its haughty lack of concern for the well being of others. Romans 1:18-21; Isaiah 66:2
The fall of Satan - 1 Timothy 3:6; conceited, puffed up, full of pride, arrogant, self-willed
Genesis 3:1; Hebrews 1:14; angels’ responsibility

Daniel 4 is a lesson concerning the danger of arrogance, but who is the lesson for? King Neb? Or young men in camps? Or us today?

Daniel 1 – taught them to study hard – created the synagogues.
Daniel 2 – gave them the vision of God’s kingdom coming to them in the distant future.
So they learned the importance of prayer, prayer the avenue to forgiveness, no sacrifices.
Daniel 3 showed them God is their savior and will rescue the perishing, so stay in fellowship

But what happens overtime as young minds turn to the worldly ways of those around them?
1 John 2:15-17; these young men and we today need this valuable lesson on the destructive nature of arrogance.
