We live in a crazy world right now, I believe because people have lost the fear of God and it has been replaced with the fear of death! Fear of covid! Fear of inflation! Unemployment! Rising interest rates! Climate change! Nuclear war! The world is in the grip of fear, in fact many cannot even define a woman because of the fear of being cancelled if they do.
But were people any less fearful back in Jesus’ day? They were oppressed by the Romans, by the priests, by disease and demons.
John 8:31-32; Hosea 4:6; Jeremiah 2:19
Galatians 4:4; in the perfect time, came Jesus John 1:17
Matthew 10:26-31 don’t fear men – fear God; Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
1 John 1:5-10; 2 Corinthians 7:1; Philippians 2:12-13; 1 John 4:15-21; Revelation 14:6-7
Jesus came to set us free from the fear of death by dying Hebrews 2:14,15; 1 John 5:13; Colossians 2:1-5; 4:12; Hebrews 6:11-12; 10:19-22; 11:1-3
Therefore even knowing that in the end, just before judgement day, God will release Satan from the abyss where he was cast Revelation 20:1-3; When he is released the scriptures say he will have a short time, in Revelation 12:12; short time – TAXOS – taxi – lasted 250 years. In Revelation 20:3; short time - is MICRON – seen in Rev.17:10; James 4:14
Short time here is 2-70 yrs. It almost seems like he has been released just by the insanity we see everywhere in politics, in the media, in academia, insanity is the new norm.
But here is the assurance from God to remind us who to fear. Revelation 20:7-10; Before they touch us, God’s fire takes them all; When? Matthew 24:36; 1 Thessalonians 5:2
So who is fearful of death? Inflation? Unemployment? Interest rates Climate change? Nuclear War? Leave the fears and worries of this world in God’s hands, we need fear One and that One is God.
