John 16 - The Commander – our 5 Star General
The blame game – not my fault I stumbled Matthew 18:7; 1 Corinthians 10:13.
Yes, it is your fault if you stumble. You are responsible for your actions!
Christ has given you 3 things in John 16 to keep you from stumbling: 1 Written Word 2 Holy Spirit 3 Answered Prayer
1. Christ Has Given Us the Written Word John 16:1-4
The religious elite will reject the Truth – the remnant.
Written in advance so it comes as no surprise. John 15:18,19
When it happens it shall not cause you to stumble, provided you know the Word.
2. Christ Has Given Us the Holy Spirit John 16:5-15
Verses 5-11 He will convict the world, not you
1. Sin – John 12:32; Acts 3:37; 7:54
Christianity – 2.4 bil. 31 % Islam 1.9 bil. 24 % Non – 1.2 bil. 15.5 % = 70% 5.5 bil.
Quran – Jesus is mentioned indirectly and directly 187x, no death but ascension

Go make disciples, people need to be taught the truth from God’s Holy Word.
2 Righteousness – resurrection, ascension – dying for others, loving enemies right way to go.
3 Judgment – John 31,48; 8:31,32; Genesis 3:1 – Indeed has God said? Indeed God has said!
Verse 12-15 He will guide you into all the Truth
3. Christ Has Given Us Access to Answered Prayer John 16:23-28
Verse 24 ask – John 16:15; James 1;4; – to fulfill your joy – obeying word, making disciples, baptizing
Now we believe Verse 30 Really? Verse 31 You will desert Me Verse 32
I am not alone – and neither will you be alone. Holy Spirit
I have spoken – so you may have peace – if you read and obey
Tribulation is in the world – peace is found being in Christ.
We have no excuses, we have no one to blame but ourself.
Christ has given us all that we need to keep from stumbling
