John 8 Concentrate - the action of focusing one's attention.
Concentrate on the spiritual not on the physical if you hope to understand Jesus.
In John, Jesus is trying to take us to the spiritual level in every chapter. He shows how blind the Jews are because they cannot make the shift, being stuck in the physical makes them angry and confused. This is His last effort to win the souls of the Jews in Jerusalem, 6 months before the final Passover.
1. Follow me and you will have the light of life – Vs. 12
What their hearing is give up your power, prestige and privilege. Get in line behind Jesus.
Your testimony is not true! – Vs.17-18 miracles and Old Testament fulfillment.
Where is Your Father? Vs. 19, 23, 24
Who are You? Vs. 25, 28 - I Am! – Light of life – Jesus is God!
Who are you following? Jews chose the Law. Christians chose the church. We need to choose the Christ!
2. Abide in my word and you will know the truth and the truth shall make you free – Vs. 31-32
We’ve never been enslaved! Vs. 34, 36 physical thinking, Jesus takes it to the spiritual.
Abraham is our father descendants! Vs. 39-41 know them by their fruit
We were not born from fornication! – John 7:41,42,52
We have one Father, God! (Not our God) Vs. 42-47
Have you made room in your heart for His Word?
What do you fill your heart with? Christian materials? Worldliness?
3. Keep My Word and you will never see death – Vs. 51
Now we know you have a demon, Abraham died, the prophets died
Whom do You make Yourself out to be? Vs. 54-56 Genesis 22:16-18
You have seen Abraham? Vs. 58 Exodus 3:14
They picked up stones, but He left.
Eternal life is Knowing the Light of Life
Eternal Life is Freedom from sin
Eternal Life is never fearing death.
Key to eternal life is to concentrate, rise up into the spiritual mind set, leave the darkness below.
