John 6 - Intentions
John’s 7 7’s
7 disciples, 7 men, 7 women, 7 witnesses, 7 miracles, 7 I Am, 7 I Am’s.
1. Water to wine - Teach - 10 Plagues, Tabernacle, Camp – 3 levels Phy. Spir. Eter.
2. Healed a dying child over a distance - Teach - Prayer, Jam.5:16; Ac.2:42;
3. Healed an ill man, 38, Bethesda - Teach – Purpose of OT, Gal.3:23-26; Mt.6:33,34;
4. Fed 5,000 with 5 loaves, 2 fish - Teach – Jn.6:35never hunger nor thirst
5. Walked on water - Teach – Word is our foundation, Rev.15:2;
6. Healed a blind man - Teach – S.O.S. Rev.
7. Raised a dead man – walking dead - Teach – Plan of Salvation when they ask
Jn.14:12 greater works shall you do how? Teach!
1Cor.11:1; Imitate me as I imitate Christ. (The Teacher)
FEEDING THE 5,000 – FEEDING THE LOST
Awareness vs.5 Spiritual eyes, Eye contact – woman, Bethesda pool; Jam.2:23-25;
Preparation vs.6-9 A spiritual lesson always on hand, 3 lessons from Exodus
Invitation vs.10 To sit at the table, table fellowship, Tim Horton’s etc. Heb.12:1,2;
Prayer vs.11a Thanks for this moment in eternity, always pray, Mt.18:20; Jam.1:5;
Lesson vs.11b As much as they wanted, open Bible, be aware of their attention span.
Gratitude vs.12,13 Realize source of supply, God. Close the Bible, say a prayer.
Awareness vs.14 Glory to God, Jesus is the answer
Jn.14:12 – Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.
We can feed more than 5,000, we can feed 10,000, unlimited.
But the thing you need to ask yourself, what are my intentions.
One way to find out is spend time in God’s presence Heb.4:12;
This chapter is also warning us about the sin of being full of murder.
