Revelation Chapter 3 - The Church in Laodicea
The angel of – the messenger of - the spiritually minded, not necessarily elders or ministers
To - Messenger for Laodicea - Arrogant
From - Faithful & true witness, from creation
I Know - Laodicea has not done any good works
But/The Bad - You’re wretched, miserable, poor, blind and naked
Repent/Reward - Buy from Me gold, clothes and eye salve.
Overcome/Conquer - Sit with Me on My throne with My Father
Hear/Meditate - He who has ears hear what the Spirit says
Example of how to share God’s LOVE, AGAPA, tough love.
TO – identify the one you’re speaking to.
FROM – describe your relationship, authority to the one your helping.
I KNOW – identify their achievements, qualities, their good works.
BUT – now you can point out, with scripture, areas of improvement, dangerous behaviors.
REPENT – explain consequences of those behaviors. Solutions need to come from scriptures
OVERCOME- give hope, picture a reward for endurance.
HEAR – finish with encouragement to meditate on the advice given in love.
