When God was preparing to bring Israel out of the land of Egypt, He gave His people very specific instructions as to how to apply the blood of the lamb to their door. This was the shadow of the very image of Jesus - sacrificing Himself so that His blood could cover us and bring us out of bondage. By following His commandment of the new covenant, we can have that same blood applied to our lives to cover our sins.
