Elizabeth Wells-Beede, PhD, RN, C-EFM, CHSE-A, CNE is currenlty a Clinical Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University. She has been a nurse educator and simulationist for 12-years teaching in associate, bachelor, and master’s programs. Before teaching in nursing, she was an educator for healthcare professions in the military and hospital setting. Dr. Wells-Beede has been incorporating simulation since 2011 when she led her educational department in the implementation of simulation through an initiative by the Air Force Surgeon General. In 2013, she furthered her education and sought the Leadership in Simulation Instruction & Management Certificate from Robert Morris University. Dr. Wells-Beede has conducted research in the use of the flipped classroom in nursing education and integration of virtual reality simulation in nursing. Since receiving her certificate, she has gone on to implement and help guide simulation in each program she teaches. She is actively involved in the College of Nursing Simulation committee, serves on an advisory board for the Health Sciences Clinical Learning Simulation Center, and was co-lead for writing and submitting for provisional accreditation with the Society for Simulation in Healthcare, which was recognized at IMSH 2022. Since receiving her CHSE-A, she has actively served the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation Learning by collaborating with fellow simulationist in the revised 2021 Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice ™: Objectives & Outcomes and Professional Development. She has also been a presenter with the Best Practices workshop with SSH & ASPE, and is currently a member of the Board of Directors for INACSL.
