Preamble
Leaders seldom take the time to positively influence and earn the admiration of their followers. They always want to earn the approval of their superiors over whom they have no authority. Eye-service (or lip-service) becomes the order of the day with such leaders. That is why one must learn the practices of leading down in an organisation.

What are the practices of leading down in organisations?
Authentic leaders must lead down with practices that are not limited to walking at the pace of their followers (1), thinking more of their followers (2), developing followers as a person (3), placing followers in their areas of strength when assigned to undertake a task (4), Modeling (modelling Jesus) the way to followers (5), transferring vision to inspire followers (6), and rewarding outstanding performance (do not take the shine off followers) (7). To lead like Jesus, we must be friends that care for our followers.
